"Sinichkin day" was held in the city of Bor
On November 14, the Sinichkin Day environmental festival, organized by the Kerzhensky Nature Reserve and the Ecologist club, was held for the 13th time in the Boats Center. It was attended by 17 teams (more than 100 people) from the schools of the year. Boron. The event traditionally opens a winter feeding campaign for birds and introduces schoolchildren and teachers to the variety of wintering birds, the rules for making feeders and types of feed.

After a slide lecture on these issues, a quiz was held. Among the younger schoolchildren, the teams of the Alisa TsVR and the Orthodox Gymnasium won in it; the middle-level team’s neighbors also won the guys from the Alisa TsVR club of nature lovers.
Also on this day, work was accepted for the contest of non-waste suspension feeders. Previously, it annually more than 300 products. According to preliminary visual estimates, this year there are much more feeding troughs (in the photo - less than half of what we brought).
All the feeders arrived at the ecocenter of the Kerzhensky reserve in the village of Rustay. Sorting of works by nominations is currently underway, but it can already be said that, compared to previous competitions, this time the number of “wrong” feeders (from rye bread, sweets, salted lard, fried seeds and other food harmful to birds) is minimal. It is also encouraging that this year only one NESTLING HOUSE entered the FEEDER competition (earlier these concepts were often confused ...).
As always, the imagination of the bourgeois knows no bounds, and among the sent feeders there were many unusual ones. For example, here is such a pumpkin head with rowan hair and an oral cavity filled with a grain mixture.
Already today, some feeding troughs were hung on trees near the ecocenter and on the Ecological Reserve “Preserved Forest” (where the technician Vasily went to set signs). As always, the first sparrows flew into the “canteen”, but then also great tits pulled themselves up.
To be honest, so far we have no time for photographing birds on the feeders - we need to make out everything before the weekend. But next week we will definitely be engaged in photo hunting and post photo trophies on our website. Someone will be happy to see their work, and someone will be inspired and make something similar or even better, and hang around his house. The birds will thank you!
